The Resurrection of Layton Cross is about a man, Layton Cross, whose life has been in a downward spiral, and in his attempt to straighten himself out, these events happen: he attacks his first ex-wife, a woman of high profile, in public; his ten-year-old daughter is molested by his best friend; his second ex-wife drunkenly decides to avenge what happened. Layton is faced with his daughter’s condition, his friend’s betrayal, and the possibility that the woman he is trying to reconcile his life with may have committed murder. This is what he must deal with, while trying to re-establish himself as an actor in the Hollywood community. It aims to capture the essence of the Hollywood scene—the posing, the addictions, the battered and bloated egos. It deals with the casual harm people do to one another in a city fueled by ambition where lives keep being redefined. It’s about erosion and salvation, miscommunication and being disconnected.
